Glaswegians

Cranhill Arts will bring together up to 65 local people from the East Central area of Glasgow, to update , modernise and significantly add to our unique digital online version of our Glaswegians photographic archive. Using the latest digital technologies, local residents will undertake a program of heritage skills building workshops enabling them to categorise, restore and publish 100s of photographs taken by their fellow citizens across the city between 1989 and 1993. Through our guiding principle of working with some of the most excluded and marginalised members of the community many of whom are not traditionally associated with heritage preservation, our workshops activities will create a greater understanding of the role of heritage in people’s lives, culture and traditions while creating an excellent on-line educational resource for the present day and for future generations to explore and enjoy.
