Gorse Hill Studios: A Celebration of Creativity and Young People

Gorse Hill Studios (GHS) is an award-winning creative arts charity for young people (YP) that is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025. To commemorate this anniversary, we would like to create a film and a GHS archive with YP and industry professionals, charting the evolution of the charity, celebrating the people and their community. GHS works with some of the most marginalised YP in the UK, including global majority, care experienced and those with special educational needs and disabilities. Despite significant challenges, the YP and the charity have had some astonishing successes. This project represents an opportunity to engage YP in re-discovering the roots of GHS, capture the oral history, research and create archive records, enhance digital skills and explore the musical and creative inspiration behind GHS. We want to create accessible and sustainable records of our heritage, which illustrate the enormous potential of YP and inspires generations to come.
