Green Heritage Future Leaders Programme

We will be working with a training partner to create and deliver a bespoke training programme for aspiring green space managers, incorporating a wide range of green skills for the 21st century. We will use a skills framework we have developed as a basis for training; this includes key green heritage skills, taken from The Landscape Institute and APSE’s report ‘Nurturing Skills for 21st Century Parks’. The topics have been consulted on with national and senior green space managers, who have scrutinised and prioritised the training content with our leadership team. Aspiring green space managers have identified the skills they lack, which are developed in the programme. Leadership and management skills will enhance the group of 30 aspiring managers, with mentoring and peer support supporting them in their career, increasing skills in the green space sector, and developing and strengthening leadership and management capacity for the future of parks.
