#Grow: Deep Time

Our world is home to innumerable archaeological and ecological resources. Many sites face damage or destruction from climate change and the human response to mitigating these impacts, like reforestation and peatland reclamation. The challenge is far bigger than our professional workforce can cope with. Our solution is Deep Time, a crowd platform empowering citizens to map archaeological sites and ecological habits from satellite imagery and LiDAR, providing data for nature recovery while creating a pathway for communities to engage in landscape transformation. Through #Explore, we identified siloed approaches to natural and cultural heritage as the primary obstacle to workforce transformation. Our #Test phase successfully validated a crowd model across 700 km², engaging 1,140 trained citizens. In #Grow, we'll implement the 'Making it Big' blueprint to scale Deep Time, collaborating with Nesta, Future Narratives Lab, and four nature organisations to launch a data platform cooperative, maximising impact throughout #HIF and beyond.
