"Heritage Journeys: Voices of Migrant Women in Mid Ulster"

First Steps Women's Centre (FSWC) wants to provide a legacy of the Intangible Heritage from BME women who have travelled and settled in Mid Ulster, between 2000 and 2024. FSWC seeks to preserve the information in the following formats: Website, At Linen Hall Library through archives, the information in order to be accessed by anyone for educational, cultural and historical reasons. In a Book/Booklet - all interviews will be transcribed (initially recorded via audio and/or video) Pictorial - Information and photos of women will be mounted on display boards to be displayed in libraries, schools, council buildings and other community places as a means of highlighting the heritage of BME women. FSWC will use these records as a way to educate and challenge racism. FSWC will undertake to work with a 100 migrant women & refugees who have came to Mid Ulster within last 20 years.
