Through this project, the Pembroke Dock Heritage Trust aims to celebrate the 200th anniversary of HMS Erebus by reconnecting the community with one of the town’s most remarkable global stories. Our vision is to create an engaging, high-quality exhibition that brings together, for the first time, artefacts recovered from the wreck and innovative interpretation that illuminates Erebus’ journeys from Pembroke Dock to Antarctica and the Arctic. By sharing this heritage in bilingual, accessible, and interactive ways, we seek to inspire pride, learning, and curiosity across all ages. The project will strengthen Pembroke Dock’s identity as a place of discovery, attract new audiences, and contribute to the town’s regeneration. Ultimately, we aim to preserve and promote this extraordinary chapter of history while building a sustainable foundation for the Trust’s future educational and cultural work.
