Hop Spots! Inspiring Children and Young People to Protect UK Native Species

Hop Spots! is a pioneering consortia project that will empower Children and Young People to advocate for nature, equipping them with essential life skills and protecting their natural heritage through some of our most endangered native species: the UK’s amphibians and reptiles. Targeting species ‘hotspots’ of Merseyside, East Anglia, and Dorset, we will offer training in species conservation, career resources, and youth networking to open doors to Green Sector employment. Our inclusive Events Programme will deliver accessible walks, talks, and demonstrations, promoting equality, diversity, and health and well-being. By delivering multi-disciplinary lessons in schools, colleges, and universities, and sharing resources with teachers nationwide, we aim to enhance environmental education and ensure native species are cherished. Success will be measured by improved awareness, growing appreciation and adoption of resources to become more successfully involved in conserving the UK’s natural resources for years to come.
