Nature And Landscape
Our organisation with 30 young people from deprived and rural wards in Dorset bring to life the pioneering field study and writing of disabled ornithologist/ conservationist JA Baker on the centenary of his birth in 1926. Collaborative workshops lead to a digital legacy of Baker’s seminal text - The Peregrine (1967) including 4 large scale illustrated montage panels depicting scenes from the book to be showcased at our Winter shows in 2025 with prints donated to University of Essex and Durlston Country Park for posterity. A digital legacy includes a webpage of the panels and a film of the workshop participants contributing to the illustrated panels and to a live score. Produced by award-winning BBC producer Sarah Cuddon and director of Cabinet of Living Cinema, Kieron Chissik, this legacy project celebrates Baker's groundbreaking nature writing and invites young people to be enthralled by nature writing, birdlife and green spaces.
