#HP Empowering People: Building Volunteer Capacity and Leadership at TCCT whilst demonstrating the social and economic impact.

Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust (TCCT) seeks £250,000 from the Heritage Fund’s Organisational Resilience Grant to strengthen and future-proof its organisational and people infrastructure. The project will deliver three interconnected but distinct strands of work: 1. Volunteer Engagement and Leadership Programme: Establishing a new People Services Manager post to lead a step change in how TCCT recruits, trains, and supports staff and volunteers. This role will embed a clear, inclusive journey for all volunteers. 2. Social and Economic Impact Assessment: Commissioning an expert-led study to quantify TCCT’s wider contribution to the local economy, wellbeing, environmental stewardship, and education. 3. Grant-Writing Capacity: Recruiting a dedicated Grant Writer to diversify income streams and build TCCT’s internal fundraising systems —ensuring the legacy of both the volunteer and impact strands. The golden thread that runs throughout the project is to ensure resilience is built, developed and sustained for the organisation and the region’s heritage.
