#HP Medway Heritage Place phase 2: strategy and sector development

The Medway Heritage Place programme responds to local need and opportunity, using heritage to build pride in place, inspire local communities and power regeneration. The programme supports local people to: - shape a long-term shared ambition for heritage in Medway - develop new ideas and approaches - unearth new stories.? The programme aims to strengthen Medway’s existing heritage offer and support as many people and communities as possible to celebrate Medway’s heritage. This project will begin to deliver on the ambition, challenges and opportunities identified through the previous phase of Medway Heritage Place, in line with the long-term plans agreed with Heritage Fund. In response to the Medway Heritage Audit analysis, public and sector engagement and the Initiation Phase Evaluation findings, we will focus on four areas: - sector support and development - strategic vision and sector empowerment - visitor economy infrastructure development - embedding Council-wide approaches to heritage-led regeneration.
