#HP Our Time, Our Place, Our Heritage

Our Time, Our Place, Our Heritage will make a contribution to the City of Stoke-on-Trent’s Heritage Framework. It will address how heritage ceramic craft skills sit in local young people’s futures through an inter-generational group investigating the role/relevance of our heritage ceramic craft ceramic skills. These skills shape our city identity. They determine how we talk about who we are, influencing strategies and policies. But, for a young person, are they relevant? How can we make them so? The project partners will bring together ten Living Heritage Heroes - people over 65 with embodied critically endangered industrial heritage ceramic craft skills, and a group of twelve diverse young people aged 16-25. They will ask “What does it look like to us to be a capital of ceramics now?”. Through their activities, and a wider programme of engagement, they will make an exhibition, a co-created Clay Manifesto and a short film.
