Nature And Landscape
50 YEAR VISION It is 2075. Breathtaking blanket bogs unfold across Inverbroom’s uplands merging with the oak and hazel of the regenerating temperate rainforest. Diverse grasslands are a haven for insects and small mammals, while healthy rivers support salmon, freshwater pearl mussels and many other species. Local people and communities continue to live and work in the landscape supported by a healthy and resilient natural environment – Inverbroom has become an exemplar of an ecologically rich future for the Scottish Highlands that supports rural livelihoods. Sustainable and regenerative agriculture works with nature to maintain the health of soils, ecosystems and natural resources, supporting food production while simultaneously enabling native wildlife to thrive. This project will lay the foundations for our vision, providing vital baseline data, community engagement and resilience work to inform evidence-led decisions on the transformation of a 7,618ha traditional estate with poor biodiversity value to an exemplar landscape where people and nature thrive.
