#LC Landscape Connections Scoping the Coast to Coast Nature Trail

Our vision is a bold, landscape-scale transformation, connecting and driving nature’s recovery across England’s cherished upland landscapes. Inspired by the designation of the Coast to Coast Path (C2C) as a National Trail, we have a rare opportunity to harness national attention and local action; developing a vital ecological corridor connecting three National Parks, a National Landscape, two Heritage Coasts and the important areas between them. This corridor encompasses tens of thousands of hectares of highly designated yet under-optimal habitats, offering exceptional potential for landowners, managers and organisations to deliver on the ‘30by30’ ambition for nature recovery and connectivity. 28,000 people live within a short walk of the C2C, and thousands travel its full length annually. We will harness this reach: connecting communities, removing barriers, inspiring visitors, and mobilising action for wildlife. This project will be a catalyst for thriving nature; weaving together landscapes and a legacy that endures for generations.
