#LC Loch Abar Mòr – Building nature networks from seabed to summit

Loch Abar Mòr is a landscape-scale nature restoration partnership across 120,000 acres of iconic landscapes in the West Highlands, convened by SCOTLAND: The Big Picture (SBP). It unites land managers, communities and businesses to restore habitats, recover wildlife, and create social and economic opportunities across Lochaber. Over 50 years, it will create a mosaic of connected landscapes, alive with nature, in which people work and live with pride and belonging, focusing on: COMMUNITY: Ecological recovery that supports livelihoods, learning, wellbeing and a strong sense of place. CONNECTIVITY: Reconnecting habitats, species and natural processes. CLIMATE: Restoring living systems that store carbon, regulate water and reduce climate risk. This project will build and strengthen the structure, resources, relationships and funding of the partnership to enable long-term delivery of its vision. Workshops and events will inform and engage communities and partners, while we scope and plan impactful, collaborative nature recovery in Lochaber.
