Nature And Landscape

Leading Change for Common Land

Our project will ensure the Foundation for Common Land (FCL) can support a brighter future for the outstanding natural, cultural and archaeological heritage of England’s 400,000 ha of Common Land – visited by >30 million/yr. As the only national charity working to improve this much-loved yet threatened heritage, we will do this by building our organisation’s resilience. Our delivery is rapidly expanding, and we’ve experienced a steep learning curve leading to an unprecedented demand for our services. We must change, and develop our capacity for a national-scale action network. We will: - Develop an ambitious organisational strategy – creating a fit-for-purpose charity that is resilient and well-governed - Formulate plans for financial sustainability to deliver at the scale heritage and people need - Trial new audience engagement with Common Land’s heritage. The project is a springboard to socially, financially and environmentally sustainable Common Land, and Commons communities
