“Let’s Not Forget Chelmsford Heritage: Rooting Inclusion & Looking Forward” is a Chelmsford-based project that seeks to embed accessibility and explore what — and whose — local history should be celebrated. Co-design, sense of belonging, and legacy, are at the heart of this project, shaping both its approach and its long-term impact. The Heritage Open Days Festival provides the perfect platform to: - Involve groups with learning disabilities, residents unable to attend events in person (e.g. because of mobility or work) and recently arrived refugees and asylum seeker communities in Chelmsford (including supporting integration). - Share the Sikh Community’s Heritage and improve awareness and understanding, and - Support and empower local young people to be trained in delivering workshops and oral history to be able to work with other communities in recording their heritage.
