Living Landscape: Holyrood Park and Arthur's Seat

We will tell the story of Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park, transforming how audiences across Scotland, the UK, and internationally engage with the area’s rich scientific and cultural heritage. By creating a new destination offer at our Science Centre – the Arthur’s Seat Gallery, a free-to-access space and exhibition that explores the history and heritage of Holyrood Park/Arthur’s Seat – and an associated outdoor learning programme, we will position Dynamic Earth as a key destination for pre/post outdoor adventure when visiting the area, connecting people more meaningfully to one of Scotland’s most popular heritage sites. Our project will leave a legacy on hundreds of thousands of people for years to come. It will enhance sustainable engagement with the heritage by empowering a more diverse range of people to learn the story of the site’s heritage and opening it up to those who might otherwise not engage with it.
