Culture And Memory
Our vision is to record oral history, culture and ways of life that can be passed down to generations now and in the future. It is primarily Oral and film recordings, older people’s stories, memories, songs, as a way of revealing the past and aim is to archive this and make them available to everyone. Storytelling and oral history is a cultural tradition and this project will explore life as it used to be comparing and contrasting it to life today. Central to this vision is that the project creates history. This history and visual information collated will be archived and available to All. NI Screen are willing to make the material available, while we are also considering uploading to youtube. Throughout this project, we will promote, share, connect with new contacts and sustain links created through stories and memories reignited.
