Make Your Mark supports over 130 heritage organisations across Scotland to develop inclusive volunteer programmes. Overseen by a working group of 21 stakeholders from heritage, voluntary and equalities sectors, Skills for Heritage Futures expands beyond a focus on “protected characteristics” to include people with experience of justice involvement, in addiction recovery, and homelessness. We will support heritage organisations to co-create lasting relationships with these audiences through volunteering and track the impacts, demonstrating how heritage is central to achieving greater equality and empowered communities. We will: 1. Deliver heritage volunteering skills development programmes: partnering with Keep Scotland Beautiful and Access to Industry. 2. Develop employer supported volunteering (ESV) programmes: pairing heritage organisations with businesses. 3. Build a Scottish heritage volunteering data baseline: conducting 18-month surveys of heritage volunteers and organisations. 4. Facilitate an inclusive heritage volunteering community of practice: offering training, one-to-one surgeries, peer-to-peer support, events and digital recruitment services.
