Culture And Memory

Memories of Migrant Men.

We would like to engage a part of our community that has previously been underserved. We want to ensure that the heritage of the Irish community in Leeds is saved, by working with the males of that community to capture the stories of their lives and their contributions to the city of Leeds. We aim to do this by using digital heritage, giving them skills and working alongside them to ensure that their own personal history is accessible and can be shared among both their community and their families. We want to amplify voices that have not been given the opportunity to talk about their heritage, their lives, challenges and achievements and ensure that these are saved and made accessible for future generations. We want to ensure that the history of the Irish community in Leeds is heard and celebrated.
