Nature And Landscape

Midlands Nature Accelerator Project

Midland Nature’s long-term vision is of a Midlands region in which nature thrives; air, water and soil are healthy and can adapt to a changing climate; where more people can enjoy access to, and benefit from natural spaces; and where our local economy invests in and benefits from a clean and nature-rich environment. The Accelerator Project is the first step in delivering this vision. In these preparatory two years we will work together to develop: A foundational set of aggregated landscape-scale nature restoration projects which are ambitious, impactful, publicly accessible and able to attract a variety of funding as “investible propositions”. Build relationships with a wide range of natural capital funders. Create a financially sustainable new organisation, Midlands Nature, with the capabilities needed to bring all parties together. The legacy will be an emergent natural capital market in the Midlands, transforming the viability of nature restoration in the region.
