Culture And Memory
MHT’s vision is to ensure Britain’s mountaineering heritage is celebrated, protected and accessible to all. This project will expand public engagement with the collection through new digital access, partnerships and events, while strengthening our long-term sustainability. We will recruit a Communications and Business Development Manager to grow income, develop audiences and build a trained volunteer base. Digitisation of key material, improved interpretation and increased outreach will help people connect with mountain history locally and nationally, including communities currently under-represented in heritage spaces. The legacy will be a more resilient organisation with stronger visibility, new partnerships, and a sustainable foundation for future growth. We aim to inspire curiosity, support youth and wellbeing through outdoor heritage, and encourage care for fragile upland environments by connecting people with the stories, achievements and challenges of Britain’s climbing culture.
