#Natur Rogerstone Community Fruit Garden
Wild about Rogerstone would like to create a new community fruit garden in an area of allotment which is currently used as a rubbish tip. The fruit garden would be contained within a fruit cage to protect the berries and other crops from birds but would include planting for pollinators with companion flowers and herbs as well as the fruit trees and bushes themselves. We have a community allotment plot at the same site with volunteers growing food for the community and all produce would be given away to the public and/or sold to fund the garden as well as being shared by volunteers. The community fruit garden would be open to community groups and schools and would enable us to run gardening guidance events such as winter pruning and companion planting.
