Nature Connection North Dorset

Nature Connection North Dorset will inspire a transformative shift in how communities across north Dorset connect with and care for their natural heritage. Through this flagship project, Dorset Wildlife Trust will empower residents to lead local nature recovery efforts, revitalising wild places, enhancing biodiversity, and deepening public engagement with nature. Over five years, we will deliver hands-on support, training, and community-led grants to help people restore woodlands, wetlands, and green spaces, especially in this nature-depleted area. This project will not only deliver visible environmental improvements but also foster stronger, healthier communities with lasting ties to their natural environment. The legacy we seek is a vibrant, connected network of people and places where nature is valued, nurtured, and sustained. By building capacity and embedding inclusive practices, this project will leave a long-term impact on both people and place, contributing to a more resilient and nature-rich future for north Dorset.
