Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish, feed him for a lifetime. Teach him how to teach others to fish, and continued and sustainable fishing skills will remain in the community, leaving a lasting legacy. Our #TeamWilder Training Academy is designed to develop environmental and community leaders, enabling community-led action for nature and creating lasting grassroots infrastructure. We will offer training to communities, farmers, businesses, schools, volunteers and other individuals and groups, giving people skills in practical habitat creation and management, species identification and surveying, as well as community leadership and campaigning. We will deliver a programme that functions as an ‘enabling tool’, so that geographical communities and communities of interest can increase their skills and knowledge, act for nature, make their voices heard and network with each other to skill share, leaving a legacy for nature.
