Nature Works: Creating a nature workforce for the future

We want to create a sustainable model that will help hundreds of young people from under-represented backgrounds kickstart their career and help nature sector organisations protect and improve more of our natural heritage. We will create high quality paid traineeships that will enable organisations working to protect and recover nature to deliver greater impact and become more representative of the wider population. We want this to drive system change, helping the whole sector extend its reach and appeal to a wider cross-section of people and engage new audiences in protecting and improving nature. The legacy of this work will be i) a new generation of nature champions with transferable skills, in sustainable employment and connected with each other through a Nature Works Academy and ii) a sector with increased confidence, capacity and skills, able to bring fresh insight, experience and talent to the urgent task of supporting nature’s recovery.
