We would like to work with 12 groups of 10 young people (120 Young people total) aged 11 to 19 (up to 25 if SEND) over 3 years to capture digital heritage recordings in the form of podcasts where young people would discuss the Heritage of Tyne and Wear including interviews from people within their communities who have lived experience of the industries that existed in Tyne and Wear that the young peoples Grandparents and Great Grandparents would have worked in included Shipping and Ship Building, Coal Mining, Factory Workers and Glass Works each group would look at a different industry to ensure a diverse range of peoples voices are captured. This will create a lasting archive of peoples voices as well support young people in giving them skills to preserve heritage through gaining a qualification in Capturing Audio as well as being given the opportunity to visit heritage sites.
