NHST Engagement Project: The History of HIV (working title)

NHST has spent over four years creating a wide ranging and dynamic exploratory engagement programme, delivered by committee members and volunteers, to community groups, schools, medical professionals and students. This has established: • Demand from community groups, facilitators and educators for information, training and access to interviews and support materials • An urgent need to raise awareness and understanding of the history of HIV, engaging people with current experiences, particularly in the care of older people • The importance of making people aware of the resource and making it more widely available in different formats (i.e. web, printed material, live events, screenings and contributions to activities run by others) The project will build on the strong foundations established by NHST, keep up momentum and use engagement with the heritage collection to push forward positive change for those living with HIV and their support networks
