Liverpool City Region is a place of huge opportunity for nature and people. We face significant challenges to reconnect our unique, though degraded biodiversity to communities in our highly urban, post-industrial core. With a legacy of high deprivation, worklessness and low life expectancy, never has the healing ability of nature been more necessary. LCR has a proud legacy enabling public access to nature; the very first purpose-built public park was created here. We will recreate this spirit of innovation and civic investment to address new challenges ahead. We will work in partnership to harness and embolden the collective unique power of our people, our organisations, our nature networks and our landscapes to accelerate natures integration into systems across LCR, from our transport, our health, our spatial planning and our industries - securing for local citizens a new generation of prosperity which is simultaneously regenerative, inclusive & sustainable.
