#NTC Community Greenways: Urban Green Revival

NTC Community Greenways: Urban Green Revival will empower communities to take an active role in shaping and stewarding Salford and Manchester’s public green (and blue) spaces. By democratising public space, we will support residents, volunteers, and organisations through accredited training, skills development and capacity building. We will train and upskill volunteers, equipping them with knowledge and tools to influence urban greenspace planning and long-term stewardship. Through collaboration with voluntary and charitable organisations, we will build lasting networks of community-led action. This will be supported by developing a green active travel network and producing a pipeline of projects to help make transformational change. To sustain the community-led initiatives and deliver the pipeline of projects, we will explore innovative funding and finance models, ensuring our legacy will be a resilient civic movement, enabling communities to shape public spaces that enhance biodiversity, wellbeing and social inclusion across Greater Manchester and beyond.
