Nature And Landscape
#NTC Connecting through Nature
Sunderland is striving to be a nature-friendly, climate resilient city in which communities work together to benefit both nature and their own wellbeing, creating a greener, sustainable and healthier city for all. Sunderland has embarked on a regeneration journey, taking pride from its rich industrial past and moving forward to a sustainable future with a green economy. Sunderland residents will have continued pride in their home and appreciation for their natural environment, recognising the advantages of being outdoors in nature. All residents will value the city’s natural spaces, recognising the benefits for health, economy, social cohesion and climate resilience. This project will help maintain our existing natural capital, improve access to greenspaces and nature, whilst providing residents with the tools, confidence and training they need to design and plan a future for local greenspace which will benefit their whole community and enable nature to thrive and prosper.
