Nature And Landscape
#NTC NL Nearer to Nature
With an ethos of environmental justice and nature networks, we will work with communities to co-create plans for beautiful spaces that meet their needs. North Lanarkshire is rich in greenspace, but with variable quality. Not all communities are able to enjoy it or feel empowered to engage in improvements. Working with partners we will connect with communities, groups and individuals to form new relationships and understand barriers to access. This will enable us to work together to develop innovative solutions. We will identify and demonstrate the economic value of our greenspaces, considering health and social benefits. We will use this knowledge to explore funding and management models to enable us to sustainably maintain, expand and improve green and blue spaces in the long-term. The legacy will be a place where our greenspaces are not considered a burden but celebrated as assets where all communities can be nearer to nature.
