#NTC Walsall's Nature and Health Strategy (Walsall's NHS)

We are excited to present an opportunity to transform Walsall by integrating nature into local areas, enhancing health, social connections, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. Our project will create healthier, more connected communities with access to quality green spaces, leading to improved wellbeing and economic resilience. We will develop "Walsall's Nature and Health Strategy" and an Action Plan to improve open spaces over the next three years. This initiative involves detailed mapping/assessment, community engagement, microbiome research, green social prescribing, and pilot models for community-managed spaces. We are seeking £999,996 to bring this vision to life. This funding will cover new staff, professional fees, volunteer expenses/training, community grants, and required equipment/materials. By empowering residents and fostering partnerships, we will create lasting benefits for health, social cohesion, and the environment, aligning with the "We Are Walsall 2040" vision.
