Nature And Landscape
Ealing Council is creating a transformational 586 hectare Regional Park for West London. A nature-rich, connected and accessible landscape that will enhance biodiversity, community wellbeing and climate resilience. This project will connect a series of disparate spaces, rewild and revitalise underutilised spaces, improve public access, and create a financially sustainable income model for the newly created park. We will: Develop a sustainable funding model to pay for physical improvements in the park, as well as ongoing maintenance Research alternative governance models to manage the new park Develop a strong identity and brand for the Regional Park Develop detailed plans to restore habitats through rewilding, wetlands, and biodiversity projects. Plan the improved connections that will knit the Regional Park together and help promote health and wellbeing, including an 8km Regional Park Heritage Trail. Engage communities in co-designing the Regional Park, with a focus on young people and harder to reach groups.
