Nature And Landscape
We want to safeguard and improve the ecological value of Oasis Nature Garden (a designated Site of Importance for Nature Conservation) by restoring three core habitats ponds x 3, lowland meadow and mixed secondary woodland by building a confident community of skilled local stewards to look after them long-term. Over three years we will: complete pond restorations and re-establish aquatic plants and invertebrates; increase wildflower diversity for pollinators; enhance woodland structure; and install bird boxes. 3600 Children, families and volunteers will learn conservation skills (wildlife ID, habitat management, monitoring) and record species via citizen-science platforms. This will include: 3 functioning ponds restored, 1 enriched meadow, 1 enhanced woodland, 20+ native wildflower species re-established, 50 bird boxes installed, 40 citizen-science datasets annually. By Year 3 we will have measurable biodiversity gains, an active stewardship group, and a clear sustainability plan supported by Oasis’s developing unrestricted income streams.
