Nature And Landscape
Our vision is for healthy peatlands cared for by connected and energised communities sharing peat-based heritage, knowledge and skills. From Somerset to Cornwall, Peat Fest Southwest invites thousands of people of all ages to experience the power and heritage of peatland environments for the first time. Through the summer and autumn 2025, we will create curiosity-generating, hands-on, bogtastic fun-filled events, celebrating our boggy peatlands as a special rich environment, necessary for all of life. Collaborating with a diversity of peatland partnerships, youth based and cultural/climate organisations, their volunteers, and young people (14-25yrs); we will co-create at-least 25 restorative activities and events. Together, we will regenerate relationships between younger people and their older peers in the future care for peatlands. During COP30 in November, Peat Fest Southwest will broadcast peatland news, leaving a legacy of knowledge, research, and a regional youth-led manifesto for peatlands shared across the UK and beyond.
