Nature And Landscape
Power Plants is a thought-provoking heritage engagement programme, from the imagination of international artist Oliver Jeffers, that explores how we generate, use, and value Power, and ultimately how we can release the Power within ourselves to protect and repair our natural heritage. The project’s centrepiece is a sculptural installation of industrial-style chimneys with vibrant flowers ‘growing’ on top and immersive AR app, featuring heritage content co-produced with community participants, which will tour iconic heritage settings in Northern Ireland and UK. An activation programme of volunteering opportunities and events will empower visitors to become change-makers through positive, joyful, and creative acts. A creative learning programme, including in-school and virtual workshops, and a Minecraft World, will upskill young people. Power Plants is delivered by an award-winning creative team, led by the Nerve Centre, in partnership with Oliver Jeffers, Eden Project, National Museums NI, NI Science Festival, and True Harvest Seeds. ‘No one flower makes the meadow…’
