Culture And Memory
Preservation of Welsh Choirs, Music & Traditions
We will work with community members of all ages to revive traditional English-Welsh songs. We will do this by working with our local Choirs who we are at risk of losing through a lack of new younger members, and poor community awareness due to lack of publicity. We will produce a series of short films to explore the history of each choir, and their importance to our communities traditions. Songs will be performed in English or Welsh, and filmed by young students of a local Film Academy. All films will have bilingual Welsh-English subtitles. We will hold a premiere and Q&A event for our community where the songs will be performed live. An accompanying booklet will be created, as well as DVD's available for local schools and organisations. All film media created will then be uploaded to YouTube and Hwb - Digital Learning for Wales.
