Culture And Memory
NN Contemporary Art (NNCA) aims to collaborate with the Northamptonshire Black History Association (NBHA) to preserve and digitise the Northamptonshire Black History Archives. By transforming these archives into accessible digital formats, we hope to broaden public access and engagement with this vital heritage. Our project aspires to celebrate and illuminate the rich and diverse history of the Black community in Northamptonshire, fostering greater understanding and appreciation across generations and in particular, the contribution of migrancy to economies, communities and culture of the region; the legacy we envision is a contemporary vibrant, inclusive historical tool that not only honours the past but also educates and inspires future generations, ensuring that these important stories and contributions are recognised and remembered. This initiative will inspire lasting cultural impact and strengthen community bonds through shared heritage.
