Culture And Memory

Project Leonards

Our home venue for Medway Play Lab CIC's improvisation workshops, is a grade 2 listed building: Store 104, Rochester High Street - formerly 'Leonards Department Store' til 1969. We have been looking to showcase our improvisors in a performance format different to the usual 'black box, short form sketch show'. 'Project Leonards' expands participants life-long learning with the live interpretation of heritage materials and is unique to our CIC. ‘Project Leonards’ will enhance not only CIC member experience, but connect the wider local community to our building's heritage. This will raise awareness of the stories in the history of Store 104 and help sustain and increase business for both the shop and for Medway Play Lab CIC.
