Culture And Memory
Promoting the Intangible Heritages” via music and food from different cultures to the wider community & the World Cultural & Diversity Day event - WCDD 4.0 “themed - It’s for now; a Wrap”
This project aims to achieve the promotion of continued positive co-existence within our wider communities via series of heritage project activities including the showcase of different heritages music and foods, which reflects the diversity of our communities as a people. One of the other aims of the event is to showcase the heritage to as many people as possible, as well as the young persons who are born in the UK many of whom are from ethnic minority backgrounds but have never been to the home country of their parents. This project and associated project activities are inline with the UNESCO's declaration in 2002 that the World Cultural and Diversity Day should hold worldwide every month of May with the view that this does not only show the richness of world's cultures but also plays an essential role of intercultural dialogue thereby promoting peace and sustainable development.
