Nature And Landscape
Protect Brill Common Forever! Subtitle: Securing the future of Brill Common’s wildlife and commoning heritage.
“What we do not know, we do not love, and what we do not love, we will not save” Richard Macfarlane. Many people who come to Brill Common are unaware of the importance of it as a vital chalk grassland habitat, as a beautiful example of Britain’s ever diminishing pockets of truly Common land and as a rare example of conservation grazing, part of the dying out heritage of "Commoning". We aim to inspire long- term behavioural change in local people to ensure they “know” and really value and look after the Common. We aim to raise awareness of the wildlife and heritage traditions on our doorsteps and enhance the historic and natural heritage of Brill Common Local Wildlife Site.
