Re-Form Heritage: Delivering Change for a Resilient Heritage Future

In May 2023, Re-Form Heritage was successful with an application to the NLHF for a resilience grant to fund a comprehensive review of financial and operational activities at Middleport Pottery to drive the transformative change necessary to re-establish the charity’s financial sustainability. The 2023 grant was explicitly designed to be a first-stage application that would allow us to deliver immediate short-term wins alongside identifying the longer-term strategic changes necessary for resilience delivery. Lottery-funded successes with the short-term wins have left us in a better financial position, but there is still work to be done. The present application is designed to help us deliver elements of the more complex strategic change necessary to improve our longer-term resilience, with a focus on learning programmes, energy use, and the site visitor journey. This will be supplemented by some additional staff capacity support for delivery of the venue hire offer and our fundraising programme.
