Culture And Memory

Reconnecting Roots: A Hongkonger Cultural Heritage Project

We aim to reconnect the Hongkonger community in Greater Manchester with their cultural roots through a year-long programme of intergenerational workshops, oral history recordings, and heritage celebrations. By exploring shared memories, traditions, and language, we will help preserve intangible Hong Kong heritage and strengthen community identity. Our project addresses the urgent need for cultural continuity among newly arrived Hongkongers in the UK, fostering a sense of belonging and pride while creating a lasting archive for future generations.
