Culture And Memory
ICDT aim to create a meaningful contribution to Inverclyde's cultural, social and community development through celebrating heritage via a diverse range of voices. Main objectives: Preservation of Cultural Heritage (digital) Community Engagement (volunteers and community events) Intergenerational Connections (across different cultures) Education and Skills Development (volunteer opportunities) Heritage Celebration and Community Pride (festivals and exhibitions) Curation of Heritage (digital) Capturing of Disappearing Heritage (with a focus on oral histories / storytelling / documentary on built heritage) Collaboration with Local Partners (community cohesion) Through the project, ICDT aspires to preserve film heritage through community engagement. Preserving the legacy of our film heritage is crucial, as it not only safeguards the historical and cultural narratives embedded in the art form but also ensures that the collective stories, creativity, and societal reflections captured on film continue to inspire and resonate with future generations. This will be captured on new community led digital platforms.
