Nature And Landscape
Norwich City Council has developed its first 10-year Parks and Green Spaces Strategy which has adopted a place-based, strategic approach to regenerating and improving the quality and value of its most important parks and green spaces. We are proposing a strategic green space network with a greater focus on heritage, biodiversity, and community involvement and its ambition to become a 'Nature City'. We are focusing on 22 of our most significant parks and green spaces, including historic parks, cemeteries, river corridors and spaces for nature, and through this project, seeking to investigate the feasibility of achieving long term restoration, improved management, sustainability, and protecting and enhancing heritage and our connections with nature. This project will allow us to define (a) what is feasible through surveys and analysis; (b) what our options are; (c) and what our communities think; and (d) what it might cost and finally (e) the next steps.
