Remembering the WHEELIE Good Times - A BeSPOKE Heritage of GY95 BMX and Urban Sports

GY95 CIO would like to engage at least 50 disadvantaged young people and at least 500 people from the wider community in celebrating our 30th Anniversary and exploring the cultural traditions of our members and urban sports. Young people will help us to uncover and share the rich history of urban sports culture in North East Lincolnshire in particular BMX, skateboarding and roller skating. The project aims to engage young people and the wider community in a range of heritage activities including creating a website that will become a digital archive of local urban sports heritage, collecting and recording oral history and memories from members, creating a documentary film that showcases the history and culture of the group and a 30th Anniversary book for members to collect and create materials that can be exhibited at the different sites managed by GY95 to share the cultural heritage with a wider audience.
