Roots of Our Garden

From within the setting of our thriving intergenerational community garden we would like to deliver a series of natural heritage activities, with the following 4 themes; 1 –developing new heritage growing space 2 –traditional natural craft sessions 3 - storytelling sessions 4 –events celebrating “Wheel of the Year” seasonal traditions The legacy will be a new heritage plant growing spaces, with garden arbour and information boards around the garden raising awareness on our natural heritage. Over summer, we will run storytelling workshops, and regular craft sessions. With each season, a celebration event will engage and inspire our community. The focus of the activities will be on nature – edible and useful plants, garden wildlife, folklore and our local history and seasonal traditions, marked by celebration events to recognise our cultures and creativity. The project will achieve increased community focus on promoting cultural heritage and enriching connection to the natural world.
