Saving Minsterley Meadows

Through this project we will purchase, safeguard and care for two outstanding, beautiful meadows in the village of Minsterley. We plan to galvanise the strong local interest in the meadows and the orchids within them, giving Minsterley parish a distinct heritage focus, becoming a source of pride for the community. Using a range of approaches we will engage as many local people as possible so that they visit and enjoy the meadows, understand and appreciate their specialness, help to manage them and spread the biodiversity found within them out across the parish. We will focus on youth through art, events and clubs, fostering a love of the meadows. This project will stretch and strengthen both the Marches Meadow Group (MMG) and the Middle Marches Community Land Trust (MMCLT). A new, Minsterley-based group is planned which will care for the meadows, supported by MMG and MMCLT.
