Culture And Memory
Scottish Indian Arts Forum (SIAF) is a community-centric ethnic minority organization, committed to advancing arts and cultural heritage of the Indian diaspora, enhancing their equal participation, active citizenship and cultural identity. It was established in 1994 and Dusherra has been its flagship event since inception. Through this project, SIAF would like to acknowledge its legacy, by celebrating its 30th Anniversary of staging successful events in the city. Through its 30th Dusherra celebration, SIAF wants to spread the universally relevant message of virtue wins over vice and emphasize again that courage will always trump oppression, in such troubling geopolitics. Over the next 6 months, SIAF will organize around 5 events across the city to honor its mission to encourage links between Indian and Scottish cultures at several levels including support and understanding through the promotion of arts, dance and music programs, workshops and events at local and national level.
